ABOUT SOCIAL ECONOMY

Today’s generations should meet their needs without jeopardizing the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

What is social entrepreneurship?

The economic activity of one person or a team of people based on the balance of the economic, social and environmental elements of the business model with the aim of sustainable profit generation (surplus income over expenses) which are invested in whole or in large part to solve a social and/or environmental problem.

What does it mean to be a social entrepreneur?

Being the owner of key resources (human, material, financial and informational) that engages them through a sustainable business model for the purpose of generating profit and in order to solve some environmentally and/or socially important problem.

What is social enterprise like?

A company that, in addition to the economic one, has an explicit social and/or environmental purpose, which it achieves through commercial activities. It is also a new form of organization that arises at the intersection of public, business and socially useful organizations (Fourth Sector Network, 2009).

When social enterprises profit, society profits!
